Good morning!
US stock futures edged higher Friday as investors awaited the August Consumer Price Index (CPI), the final major inflation reading before the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting next week.
Dow and S&P 500 futures both gained 0.54%, while Nasdaq-100 futures rose 0.59%, following a four-day losing streak for major indexes.
Economists expect annual inflation to hold at 3.4% in August, still above the Fed’s 2% target. Rising oil prices are adding pressure, with Brent crude surpassing $106 per barrel and diesel reaching a record $6 per gallon.
Markets now price a 72% chance of a Fed rate hike, up from roughly 50% last week.

Alliance Entertainment Holding Corp (AENT) stock soared 74.40% to $9.61 in pre-market trading after reporting fiscal 2026 revenue up 8% to $1.15 billion.
ACV Auctions Inc (NYSE: ACVA) shares are trading up 43.40% at $10.36 at the time of writing after Copart agreed to acquire the company for $10.50 per share in cash, valuing it at approximately $1.9 billion.
Surgepays Inc (SURG) grew over 44.01% to $0.23 in pre-market trading today after the company completed the sale of key platforms and wireless assets to GPO Plus for total consideration of $27.5 million.
XORTX Therapeutics Inc (XRTX) jumped about 13.74% to $2.40 in pre-market trading Friday after announcing initiation of clinical and commercial manufacturing of XORLO™.

PACCAR Inc (PCAR) has won the favor of RBC Capital Mkts's equity research team. The firm upgraded the shares from Sector Perform to Outperform and moved its price target to $150, suggesting 22.38% additional upside for the stock.
Simmons First National Corp (SFNC) received an upgrade from analysts at Keefe Bruyette, who also set their one-year price target on the stock to $26. They changed their rating on SFNC to Outperform from Mkt Perform in a recently issued research note.
BMO Capital Markets reduced its rating on Anglogold Ashanti PLC (AU) stock to Market Perform from Outperform and assigned the price target to $115.
RBC Capital Mkts analysts reduced their investment ratings, saying in research reports covered by the media that its rating for BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc (BCRX) has been changed to Sector Perform from Outperform and the new price target is set at $11.
Analysts at Evercore ISI downgraded Chewy Inc (CHWY) stock to In-line from Outperform, and the new price target is set at $25.
